Harold E. Armstrong of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Robert and Julia (Pickles) Armstrong on October 3, 1927 in Anaconda, Missouri and left from this life suddenly on Saturday, November 1, 2008 in Creve Coeur, Missouri at the age of 81 years and 29 days. Harold was united in marriage to Pauline F. White on June 25, 1988 in Sullivan, Missouri. Harold was a retiree of General Motors Corp. after 31 years of dedicated service. He and Pauline owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Motel in Cuba for many years. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of St. Clair V.F.W. Post #2482, St. Clair American Legion Post #347, St. Clair Elks Lodge #2651. In his spare time he enjoyed farming, fishing and traveling the world. Harold is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Julia (Pickles) Armstrong; wife Pauline F. (White) Armstrong; one brother Julian Armstrong; two sisters Clarcie Snyder and Hazel Collins; other relatives and friends. Those who are left to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy are his three sons James and wife Brenda Armstrong of Cuba, Missouri, Eddie and wife Dena Armstrong of Stanton, Missouri, Ronnie and wife Beverly Armstrong of Cuba, Missouri; one grandson Rodney and wife Kristin Armstrong of Farmington, Missouri; one great-grandson Keegan Armstrong of Farmington, Missouri; one sister Roberta Holmes of St. Clair, Missouri; one brother Clyde Armstrong of Naples, Florida; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation: Monday, November 3, 2008 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral: Tuesday, November 4, 2008 11:00 a.m. at Britton Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Lathum, officiating. Interment: Anaconda Cemetery, Anaconda, Missouri with full military honors. Memorials: St. Clair V.F.W. Post #2482 1087 N. Service Rd. St. Clair, Missouri 63077. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Armstrong family.
