Golden Marie King of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Leasburg, was born Saturday, January 23, 1926 at Bourbon, Missouri to the union of Jesse and Susie (Nee: Wymer) Richards and went home to be with The Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Cuba Manor at the age of 90 years. Golden was united in marriage to James William King on January 26, 1946 at Leasburg, Missouri. They were happily married for nearly sixty-eight years when James passed away in January 2014. Golden retired in 1995 after thirty years of dedicated service, as a book keeper, for Rx All Drug (Staats family) in Sullivan and Cuba. Golden always grew a beautiful flower garden every year and she also spent many hours working in her vegetable garden. In her younger years, she would be canning everything she grew. Golden was a devout member of the Crossroads Baptist Church of Leasburg since 1947. Golden treasured spending time with her family and friends. Golden was a loving daughter, wife, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Golden is preceded in death by her parents Jesse and Susie Richards, husband James King, two infant brothers, uncle Gene Richards, brothers-in-law Edward, Alvin, Wilbur and Gene King, Maurice Ray and Chuck Schaffer, sisters-in-law Ethel and husband Robert Bodey, Viola Sappington, Alma Woods, Marie Adam and Ina King, and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her aunt Margo Richards of Sullivan, brother-in-law Clarence "Pete" and wife Dorothy King of Sullivan, sisters-in-law Joyce King of Sullivan, Irene King of Cuba, Norma King of Bourbon, Alice Ray of Fenton and Betty Schaffer of Sappington, Missouri, the staff of Cuba Manor, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, July 17, 2017 from 12:00 till 1:00 PM at the Cross Roads Baptist Church, 5958 Hwy H, Leasburg, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Cross Roads Baptist Church with Michael King officiating. Special music will be "Amazing Grace", "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art". Interment and prayers will follow in the Cross Roads Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the King family.
