Glen O. Amy of Cuba, Missouri formerly of Rapid City, South Dakota was born on February 21, 1922 in Watertown, South Dakota to the union of George and Matilda (Kraus) Amy and left from this life on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Missouri at the age of 94. Glen retired as a Civil Service Employee, having worked as a Foreman for the Department of the U.S. Army in Igloo, South Dakota. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army-Air Corps during WW II. He was a member of the Watertown First United Methodist Church in Watertown, South Dakota and attended the Cuba United Methodist Church. He enjoyed living in the Black Hills of South Dakota, working outside in his garden, golfing and traveling with the Go Club of Peoples Bank. Glen is preceded in death by his parents George and Matilda (Kraus) Amy; wife Helen S. (Finn) Amy; one son Donald Lee Thompson; two brothers Merle "Ace" and Donald Amy. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his daughter Jerry Ann and husband Donald Chrisco of Cuba, Missouri; two brothers Warren and Alvin "Turk" Amy both of Watertown, South Dakota; one sister Gladys Amy of Watertown, South Dakota; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Graveside service with full military honors will be held on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving Glen's family.
