George W. Grady, Jr. of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday, November 16, 1910 at Chicago, Illinois to the union of George W. Grady, Sr. and Mary Jane (nee: Crawford) Grady and left from this life on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Rolla, Missouri at the age of 98 years 2 months and 26 days. George was an excellent athlete while attending high school at the Illinois School for the Deaf. He was the halfback for the football team and ran track were he received many awards. George was united in marriage to Marie Pearl Hermes. He retired in 1980 from the Litho Plate Company after many years of service. In 1995 George and Marie moved from Des Plaines, Illinois to Indian Hills were they made their home until Marie passed in 1998. George spent the last 5 years at Gibbs Care Center, Steelville, were he got to enjoy ice cream morning, noon and night. George was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, husband, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. George is preceded in death by his parents George Sr. and Mary Jane Grady, wife Marie Grady brother Bernard Grady, two sisters Helen and husband Red McComb and Alice and husband Boots Headtke and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy is his sister-in-law Mrs. Bernard Grady of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives and friends.
