George J. Green, Jr.

George J. Green, Jr. of Cuba was born Saturday, August 29, 1925 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of George J. Green, Sr. and Helen (nee: Haustein) Green and left from this life on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 83 years 3 months and 8 days. George proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. George was united in marriage on September 12, 1952 to Bernice 郢邀邜Bernie郢邀邝 C. Sypniewski at Tunica, MS and to this union 3 children were born; Jerry, Tom and Chris. George retired November of 1986 after 38 years of dedicated service from the Local 268 Union Hall in St. Louis as a sprinkler fitter. George was a member of the Cuba VFW and the Cuba American Legion Post. After retirement George truly enjoyed his farm, taking care of his 郢邀邜girls郢邀邝 the cows and all of his dogs. He always enjoyed good food and in his later years anything sweet. George was a loving son, brother, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother in law, uncle, cousin and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. George is preceded in death by wife Bernie, his parents George and Helen Green, one sister Lou, two brothers Tom & Kenny Green and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy is his two sons; Jerry and wife Carole Green of St. Louis and Tom and wife Lori Green of Villa Ridge, one daughter Chris Green of Cuba, seven grandchildren; John (Maggie Brewer), Mark, Joey, Cassie, Katie, Emma and Will, one great grandson George J. Green, IV and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation Tuesday, December 9th from 5 to 8 PM at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba. Funeral service 11 AM Wednesday, December 10th at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri with full military honors.
