George Daniel Foster of Leasburg, Missouri was born to the union of Joseph and Mary (Hollingshead) Foster on October 11, 1918 in Leasburg, Missouri and left from this life on Sunday, September 14, 2008 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 89 years 11 months and 3 days. George was united in marriage to Wilma E. Richardson on June 16, 1951 in Pocahontas, Arkansas and to this union four children were born Charles, Kenneth, Troy and Mary. George worked most of his life as a mechanic and retired from Hocker Oil Co. as a manager of their Cuba location. He was a lifetime member of Cuba United Methodist Church and was a member of the Mens Prayer Breakfast, VFW Post #7147, Chamber of Commerce, Crawford County Fair Board member for 27 years having served as President, Past Board member of Missouri Ozarks Economic Corporation, Leader of the 4-H Club, supporter of the Crawford County Historical Society. He proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army during WWII. In his spare time he enjoyed farming on the family farm and listening to Blue Grass Gospel Music. George is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary (Hollingshead) Foster; wife Wilma E. Foster; one son Charles Foster; three brothers Thomas, William and Charles Foster. Those who are left to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy are his two sons Kenneth and wife Bonnie Foster of Sullivan, Missouri, Troy and wife Kimberly Foster of Charlestown, Indiana; one daughter Mary and husband Mike Brinker of Sullivan, Missouri; ten grandchildren Jonathan Foster of Little Rock, Arkansas, K.J., Michael, Matthew and Ashley Foster all of Sullivan, Missouri, Sarah Foster of St. Louis, Missouri, Zachariah and Rachel Foster of Charlestown, Indiana, Olivia and Mariah Radle both of Sullivan, Missouri; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral: Wednesday, September 17, 2008 11:00 a.m. at Cuba United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Lathum, officaiting. Interment: Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri with full military honors. Memorials: Cuba United Methodist Church Building Fund. Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Foster family.
