Gene Alan Kulaga, 75, of Bourbon, passed away, Sunday, November 3, 2024, at his home.
On September 17, 1949, Gene was born to the union of Florian Kulaga and Ruth (Hillebrand) in Hermann, Missouri.
Gene served his country honorably in the United States Army.
He owned and operated G-K Plumbing for many years.
Gene loved connecting with the outdoors when he would go hunting. He also loved to visit Little St. Louis to go for a relaxing swim. Tootsie, his beloved dog absolutely loved to go on “bye-bye” rides with Gene. He had a big heart and was kind to everyone he met, and he would help anyone in need. He loved having all his family and friends around and was always welcoming to those that visited at the house and in return everyone was always happy to see Gene when he would stop by. Gene will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Florian Kulaga; his mother and stepfather, Ruth & Paul Murta; a son, Eric Robert Kulaga; a daughter, Tammy Kulaga.
Gene is survived by partner, Jacinda Licklider of Bourbon; two daughters, Halley Douglas and husband Kaleb of Cuba & Tina Largent and husband David of North Carolina; two brothers, Tim and wife Judy Murta of Washington state & Paul Murta of West Plains; four nephews, Justin Murta and wife Rafaelia of Washington state, Kenny Murta and wife Alissa of Lee’s Summit, Paul Murta of West Plains and Max Murta of Vietnam; grandchildren, Noah Lowey, Tobias Douglas, Zack Largent, Trisha Largent& Alyna Seaz; one great-grandchild, Ryker Largent.
Per Gene’s wishes, he will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held later in the spring of 2025.
