Rev. Gary E. Reeves, a devoted servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, in Palos, Illinois, at the age of 68. Born on December 25, 1955, in Bourbon, Missouri, he was the son of James E. and Della A. (Bridgeman) Reeves.
Gary was united in marriage to Loraine A. Gann on September 12, 1976, in St. James, Missouri. Together, they welcomed two beloved sons, Matthew and Andrew, into their family. Gary's unwavering faith and commitment to serving others shone brightly throughout his life.
As the Pastor of Lighthouse Pentecostal Worship Center since 1995, Gary dedicated his life to ministering to his congregation with compassion and joy. His love for God was evident in everything he did, including his passion for music which he shared through playing the guitar and worshiping in church. In addition to his pastoral work, Gary was an over-the-road truck driver, known on his travels by the CB handles "Gospel Singer" and later "Stick Man." He looked forward with great anticipation to the arrival of his first grandchild.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, James E. Reeves, as well as two brothers-in-law, William and Jesse Gann, and other cherished relatives and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Loraine A. (Gann) Reeves; his sons, Matthew and wife Payton Reeves and Andrew Reeves; his mother, Della A. (Bridgeman) Reeves all of Cuba; and many family members including brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edward and Mel Gann of Rolla, John and Judy Gann of Rolla, Diana and Bill Kaemmerer of Sullivan, Dorothy and Joe Bridgeman of Cuba, and Geraldine Lorts of Cuba. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends who will treasure his memory.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W. Washington St., Cuba, Missouri.
