Gary Wayne Peters Sr., 75, of Bourbon, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Cuba Manor in the comforting presence of his family and the caring staff.
On March 6, 1949, Gary was born to the union of Raymond Peters and Amelia (Hoevelmann) in St. Louis, Missouri.
Gary was united to Sandy Sharp in a commitment ceremony, and they would spend over 20 years together until Sandy's passing in February of 2023.
Gary was a jack of all trades and was also known to be a handyman. He could usually be found tinkering with electronics, more specifically computers. He was also a skilled mechanic, often keeping old vehicles running way past their prime. One of his fondest memories from his younger days was playing the guitar with his friends . At the end of the day when the tinkering was done, Gary's favorite place to be was sitting on the porch with Sandy listening to old country music in the solace of nature watching the sunset.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Amelia Peters; four brothers, Bob Peters, Ron Peters, Kenny Peters and Norman Peters; one sister, Dorothy Peters; his life partner of over 20 years, Sandy Sharp.
Gary is survived by his two sons, Gary Wayne Peters Jr. and Adam Peters of St. Louis; step-daughter, Robyn Black of Bourbon; sister-in-law, June Peters of Sullivan; other relatives and many friends.
In keeping with his wishes, Gary's body will be donated to science.
There are no memorial services planned at this time.
Arrangements under the compassionate care of Mizell Funeral Home, Cuba.
