Francis Arthur 'Frank' Nowland Jr.

Francis Arthur "Frank" Nowland, Jr. of Leasburg, Missouri was born December 19, 1953 at Fairbanks, Alaska to the union of Francis A. and Betty (ne: Mann) Nowland, Sr. and left from this life on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 62 years. Frank was a truck driver in his younger years. He worked for the City of Cuba in the Grounds Department and then the Cuba Police Department as Animal Control before his health began changing and he had to retire. Frank and Gwen attended the Cuba Christian Church for several years. Frank enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, old model cars and sleeping in the deer stand. Frank watched old Army movies, old western movies and you could find him every morning at the Truck Stop enjoying coffee. What Frank truly loved most in life was his family and spending time with them. Frank was a loving son, brother, husband, father, step father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend of many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Betty Nowland, Sr., one son Danny Nowland, twin grandbabies Storm and Dakota and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Gwen Nowland of the home, four children Chris and wife Kim Nowland of Cuba, Eric and wife Carol Nowland of St. James, Sara Nowland of Cuba and Jessica Nowland Treece of Cuba, mother of his children Kathryn "Kathy" Nowland of Cuba, step daughters Brenda and husband Mike Taylor of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bobbie Jo and husband Mike Meyer of Cuba and Brandy and husband Donnie Howdeshell of Rolla, twenty two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three sisters Nancy and husband John Engard of Elyria, Ohio, Jeannie and husband Leon Stephen of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and Karen and husband Joe Vanderhoof of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, two brothers Ed and wife Bonnie Nowland of Pembine, Wisconsin and Danny and wife Patty Nowland of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, July 25, 2016 from 4:00 till 7:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Sanders officiating. Special music will be "In the Garden", "Amazing Grace" and "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow". In keeping with Frank's wishes, he will be cremated following the visitation and funeral service. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations to the family in care of the funeral home would be greatly appreciated. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is very honored to be serving Frank's family.
