Florence M. Chapman

Florence M. Chapman of Cuba, Missouri was born May 27, 1940 at St. James, Missouri to the union of George and Virginia (Nee: Adair) Williams and left from this life on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Landmark Hospital in Columbia, Missouri at the age of 75. Florence was united in marriage to Harold Chapman at Holy Cross Catholic Church on October 20, 1958 and to this union three children were born James, Theresa and Debra. Florence was a devout member of Holy Cross Catholic Church her entire life and went to grade school at Holy Cross. She spent hours and hours making rosaries and recorded making ten thousand six hundred in her book. Florence enjoyed fishing, putting puzzles together, cooking and in her younger years horseback riding. Florence and Harold was the last surviving member of the 3rd Order of St. Francis of Assisi. What Florence loved most in life was her family, church family and The Lord. Florence was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Florence is preceded in death by her parents George and Virginia Williams, sister Rose Mary and husband Jerry Ross, sister-in-law Marilyn L. Guy and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving husband of fifty seven years Harold Chapman of the home, three children James and wife Dee Anna Chapman of Cuba, Theresa and husband John Breese of Cuba and Debbie and husband Tom Stogsdill of Gordonsville, Tennessee, six grandchildren Ashley and husband Tommy Schmelz, Alisha Chapman, Jessica and husband Jessie Spurgeon, Jason Whitworth, Dalton Stogsdill and Morgan Stogsdill, three great grandchildren Chase Schmelz, Chasidy Schmelz and Ellie Spurgeon, two brothers Jim and wife June Williams of Fort Myers, Florida and Morris and wife Lois Williams of Holts Summit, Missouri, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 5:00 till 8:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri. Celebration of mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Rich Boever as the celebrant. Interment and prayers will follow at the Delhi Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Church in Florence's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving Florence's family.
