Eugene Joseph 'Gene' Bausch

Eugene Joseph "Gene" Bausch of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday, June 21, 1939 at Sherman, Missouri to the union of Ernest and Mary (nee: Tinkle) Bausch and left from this life, surrounded by family, on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at his home in Cuba at the age of 78 years. Gene proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 22 August 1958 till 21 August 1961 and he earned the Good Conduct Medal. On February 14, 1963 Gene was united in marriage to Judy Ann Talbert and they are the proud parents of Julie, Eugene and Tara. Gene worked in construction for many years, he also worked at Anderson College before they moved to Missouri. After moving to Cuba, Gene went to work for Wallis Oil, at the Cuba Mobil On the Run, in the maintenance department. In his spare time, Gene enjoyed woodworking, fishing and taking care of the lawn and his beautiful vegetable garden. Gene was an avid John Wayne and the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan. He spent hours watching western movies. Gene never met a stranger and loved to joke. What he treasured most in life, was spending time with his family. Gene was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, great uncle, brother-in-law and friend of everyone he ever met. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Gene is preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Mary Bausch, four brothers; Jim and wife Vera Bausch, Ernie and wife Minnie Bausch, Charlie Bausch and Harold Bausch, three sisters; Juanita Hicks, Elsie and husband Eugene Jaycox, Virginia and husband Wilbert Elliott, sisters-in-law Geraldene Garren, Gennie and husband Ted Lewis, Lucy Bausch, brothers-in-law Sonny Talbert and Tom Dean and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of fifty-five years Judy Ann Bausch of the home, three children; Julie and husband Bill Wirth of Cuba, Eugene Joseph, Jr. and wife Tonya Bausch of Pacific, Missouri and Tara Moody and companion Scott Behrle of Cuba, six grandchildren; Cody and wife Sara Wirth of Cuba, Danica and husband Brad Landwehr of Cuba, Cailley Bausch of Pacific, Hannah Bausch of Pacific, Madison Moody of Cuba and Payton Moody of Cuba, two amazing great grandchildren; Macy and Fletcher Landwehr, three brothers; Lester and wife Betty Bausch of Huntsville, Missouri, Eddie Bausch of Sullivan and Bill Bausch of Sherman, one sister Patricia Fisher of Robertsville, Missouri, sisters-in-law; Ella Dean of O'Fallon, Missouri, Rita and husband Bill Morris of South Carolina, Vivian Clark of South Carolina, Verna Talbert of Rhode Island, Doris and husband Mike McKibben of Maryland, Margie Cleary of House Springs, Missouri, Linda Bausch of St. Charles County, Missouri and Carol Bausch of Sherman, brothers-in-law; Jerry Talbert of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Michael Talbert of Pacific, Carl Garren of South Carolina, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial visitation will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba. Memorial service, followed by military honors, will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba, with Pastor Don Martin officiating, Special recorded music will be "How Great Thou Art" and "When We All Get to Heaven". In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Gene's memory. In keeping with Gene's wishes he was cremated. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Bausch family.
