Etta Mae Rogers

August 10, 1941 — June 29, 2019

Etta Mae Rogers of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, August 10, 1941 to the union of Jess and Mary Etta (Nee: Gensler) Bridgeman. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at St. James Living Center at the age of 77 years.

Etta was united in marriage to Herman W. Rogers on December 15, 1962. They treasured every day they were together for fifty-seven years. Herman went to meet the Lord on Wednesday evening and he waited at the gate for Etta. They were the proud parents of Tom and Will.

Etta retired in 1992 from Paramount after twenty plus years of dedicated service. Etta gave her heart to the Lord at a very young age. She spent years playing the piano and singing for The Lord.

In her spare time, she was taking care of her flower and vegetable gardens. Etta was an excellent cook and she enjoyed sewing. What Etta loved the most in life was spending time with her family and friends.

Etta was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jess and Mary Bridgeman, husband Rev. Herman W. Rogers, Sr., one son Herman "Will" Rogers, Jr., one grandson; Jesse Rogers, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; James Reeves, Jr. Rogers, Virginia and husband Melvin Vaught, Joe and wife Jean Rogers, Marvin and wife Leona Rogers, Buddy Rogers, Grace Rogers and other relatives and friends.

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her son Tom Rogers and companion Anita Mansfield of Cuba, daughter-in-law Steffanie Rogers of Steelville, five grandchildren; Jeremiah Rogers, Tabitha Rogers both of Steelville, Danny Rogers, TJ Rogers both of Cuba and Missy Rogers of Summersville, three great grandchildren; Trustin Richards, Zoey Szyhowski and Mackenzie Rogers, three brothers; Albert and wife Dora Bridgeman, Harold Bridgeman, Joe and wife Dorothy Bridgeman all of Cuba, three sisters; Della Reeves, Louise and husband Claud Smith, Gladene Ware, Geraldine and husband Tom Lawrence all of Cuba, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Jimmy and wife Alice Rogers of Sullivan, Robert and wife Judy Rogers, Norene Rogers, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba.

Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2019 at the Mizell Funeral Home with Brother Don Mitchell officiating. Special recorded music will be "Star of Bethlehem".

Interment and prayers will follow at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Evangelical Holiness Church, 403 Hwy PP, Cuba, Missouri 65453 in Etta's memory.

The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Rogers family.
