Emmett Walter Skinner

June 22, 1925 — December 8, 2013

Emmett Walter Skinner of Cuba was born to the union of Walter B. and Mabel E. (Klauberg) Skinner on June 22, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 88. Emmett was united marriage to Shirley J. Koch on April 7, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri and to this union one son was born Terry. Emmett worked many years as an Auto Mechanic for Jim Keehn Motors in Webster Groves, Missouri and then after moving to Cuba he worked for Cuba Chrysler. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and was an avid animal lover. Emmett is preceded in death by his parents Walter B. and Mabel E. (Klauberg) Skinner; one son Terry Skinner; one sister June Elvina Crapo; one sister-in-law Mildred "Babe" Holler. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife of 68 years Shirley J. Skinner of Cuba, Missouri; daughter-in-law Debbie and husband Jerry Skinner-Neuhaus of St. Charles, Missouri; one grandson Ryan Skinner of Cuba, Missouri; one sister-in-law Dolores and husband Virgil Sorth of Owensville, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church 730 Fleenor Rd. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Joe Ed Pederson, officiating. Interment will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Shelter Pals. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Skinner family.
