Elmer William Rocklage

October 21, 1914 — December 1, 2007

Elmer William Rocklage of Martinsburg, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday, November 21, 1914 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Henry W. Rocklage and O'Linda H. (nee Rieke) Rocklage and left from this life on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Wellsville, Missouri at the age of 93 years 1 month and 11 days. Elmer was united in marriage to Reba Marie Reeves on July 30, 1938 at St. Louis, Missouri and to this union two daughters were born Nancy and Bonnie. Elmer worked as a Wood Pattern Maker until his 40's. He then became a full time Director for the Child Evangelism Fellowship in Austin, Texas and then Springfield, Illinois. He retired from being a Director at the age of 65 and became a volunteer for the Child Evangelism Fellowship and until 6 months ago he volunteered three days a week and the other 2 days in worked in his wood working shop. Elmer was a very talented craftsman. He could design and build houses, furniture or anything that could be made out of wood. Elmer was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother in law, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Elmer is preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters, his loving wife Reba Marie Rocklage, one son in law Larry Hinds and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to celebrate a life lived is his two daughters; Nancy Jessee and Bonnie Hinds of Martinsburg, Missouri, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Private funeral services for Elmer was held at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Bruce Chulka officiating. "When They Ring the Golden Bells" was the special music for the service. Burial was at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba. Memorial contributions may be made to the Child Evangelism Fellowship, Warrenton, Missouri in Elmer's memory would be greatly appreciated. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Rocklage family.
