Elmer W. "Rusty" Jopling

Elmer W. “Rusty” Jopling of Cuba, Missouri was born on December 18, 1932 in Selmer, Tennessee to the union of Hugh David and Lucie (Melton) Jopling. He left from this life on Friday, April 1, 2022 at St. James Living Center in St. James, Missouri at the age of 89.

Rusty was united in marriage to Barbara M. “Bobbie” Earley on August 30, 1957, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. To this union five children were born Warren, David, Trisa, Scott and Matt.

Rusty honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He owned and operated Jopling & Sons Construction and TJ's Family Billiards for many years. He enjoyed a game of pool, woodworking, NASCAR and motorcycles. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Rusty is preceded in death by his parents Hugh David and Lucie (Melton) Jopling; one sister Robbie Jean Smith; one granddaughter Katie Jopling.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Bobbie Jopling of Cuba; five children Warren Jopling of St. Clair and significant other Connie Dildine, David and wife Jane Jopling of Old Fields, West Virginia, Trisa Jopling of Steelville and significant other Tony Mier, Scott and wife Sheila Jopling of Villa Ridge, Matt Jopling and significant other Elijah Jones of St. Robert; daughter Deanna Jopling of Cuba; ten grandchildren; Elizabeth, Ryan, Timothy, Mark, Makayla, Gavin, Gage, Mackenzie, Paisley, and Oliver, three great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Barrett Payne, officiating.

Interment and military will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

If desired, flowers may be sent to the funeral home or memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in Rusty's honor.
