Elmer Lewis Ware of Cuba, Missouri was born on June 23, 1930 in Cuba, Missouri to the union of Jesse and Annie (Osborn) Ware and left from this life on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri at the age of 86. Elmer proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, during the Korean War Conflict, from December 1951 till December 1953. He earned the National Defense Medal. Elmer was a residential carpenter most of his life and he owned and operated a Ware Trucking Company in his later years. Elmer was a longtime member of Delhi Baptist Church and he enjoyed farming, cattle, flying his airplane and hunting. Elmer was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, great uncle and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Elmer is preceded in death by his parents; former wife Bonnie (Chance) Ware; wife Janice Ware; one daughter Ellen Denise Ware; five brothers Floyd, Roy, Marvin, Edwin and Virgil Ware and other family and friends, Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Mary Lou (Doyle) Ware of Cuba, Missouri; two sons Don and wife Pam Ware of Rolla, Missouri, Kevin and wife Cindy Ware of Bourbon, Missouri; three step-children Linda and husband Steve Smith of Vienna, Missouri, Dennis and wife Rita Cahill of Vienna, Missouri, David and wife Franky Cahill of Dixon, Missouri; three grandchildren Tina and husband Scott Gibbs of Steelville, Missouri, Christina Ware of Lebanon, Missouri, Tim and wife Diane Ware of Bourbon, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren Alexandra, Brandon, Joshua and Clara Gibbs, Mackenzie, Jesse and Eric Ware; one brother Charles Ware of Cuba, Missouri; seven step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Special music will be "In the Garden", "Because He Lives" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 1:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Bruno, officiating. Interment, prayers and full military honors will follow at Delhi Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. If desired, memorials may be appreciated to the American Cancer Society or the USO. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Ware family.
