Elizabeth Jane Stewart Ray of Cuba, Missouri was born Monday, July 1, 1907 at Cuba, Missouri to the union of James and Minerva (nee: Enloe) Burleson and left from this life on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 101 years 9 months and 28 days. Elizabeth was united in marriage to Horace Stewart April 1927 and to this union six children were born; William, Robert, Clifford, Charles, June and Nancy. Elizabeth was united in marriage to Herman Ray in September of 1975. Elizabeth spent her life taking care of her family. She was a life time member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba. She had a great sense of humor, excellent story teller, fabulous cook "especially blackberry cobbler", great seamstress and in her later years she enjoyed traveling across the United States and even to some European countries. Elizabeth was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Minerva Burleson, husbands Horace Stewart and Herman Ray, two sons William and Chuck Stewart,one son in law Bill Albrecht, three sisters Mary Lou and husband John Miller, Lula Martha and husband Claude Stevens and Dolly Ellen and husband James Delashmett, three brothers; John Dewey and wife Marie Burleson, James Alva and wife Bonnie Burleson and Claude W. 郢邀邜Ted郢邀邝 and wife Cleta Burleson and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her sons Robert 郢邀邜Bob郢邀邝 and wife Joyce Stewart and Cliff and wife Jodi Stewart of Cuba, daughters June Albrecht of Cuba and Nancy and husband Don Fisher of Fort Mauve, AZ, daughter in laws Marilyn Stewart of Cuba and Lou Stewart of Waynesville, Missouri, 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation Thursday, April 30, 2009 from 5 till 8 pm at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service 11 AM Friday, May 1, 2009 with Pastor Bob Knight officiating. Interment at Hodge-Enloe Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Hodge-Enloe Cemetery in Elizabeth's memory. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Stewart Ray family.
