Edward Homer Carlisle of Leasburg, Missouri was born to the union of Homer and Jenny (Fulton) Carlisle on May 24, 1930 in Leasburg, Missouri and left from this on Monday, December 5, 2011 at his home at the age of 81. Ed was united in marriage to Cleo Rowland on February 24, 1951 in Leasburg, Missouri and to this union two children were born Vicky and Terry. Ed and Cleo celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Ed was a farmer and retired from TRW Ramsey Manufacturing Company in Sullivan after many years of dedicated service. He Honorably served his Country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a longtime member and Deacon of Delhi Baptist Church. Ed enjoyed singing and playing his guitar, deer hunting and fishing. Ed is preceded in death by his parents Homer and Jenny (Fulton) Carlisle; one sister Wilma Carlisle. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Cleo Carlisle of the home; two children Vicky and husband Kenneth Holt of Auburn, Indiana, Terry and wife Gretchen Carlisle of Columbia, Missouri; six grandchildren Zebadiah and wife Zeynup Holt, Kody and wife Lauren Holt, Kaleb and Wysteria Holt, Sarah Carlisle, Lindsey and husband Bradley Herron; one brother James and wife Barbara Carlisle of Vandalia, Ohio; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2011 2:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Bruno, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Lea Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to the (FBFC) Friday Backpacks for Cuba P.O. Box 777 Cuba, Missouri 65453 or Cuba Senior Center. The Mizell Funeral Home is Honored to be serving the Carlisle family.
