Edith Marie Markley of Cuba was born to the union of George and Hattie (Carr) Treece on Sunday, May 4, 1913 in Cuba, Missouri and left from this life on Monday, August 2, 2010 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 97 years 2 months and 29 days. Edith was a homemaker and enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo and babysitting her grandchildren. Edith is preceded in death by her parents George and Hattie (Carr) Treece; three sisters Hazel Weigle, Grace West and Gladys Everson; one brother Charles Treece and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her daughter Betty and husband Norman DeLeo of Cuba, Missouri; three grandchildren Marisa and husband Dennis Roedemeier of Cuba, Missouri, Mark and wife Cindy DeLeo of Jupiter, Florida, Matt and wife Amy DeLeo of Sullivan, Missouri; ten great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 10:00 a.m. until time of service 11:00 a.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with Rev. James Finder and Norman DeLeo, officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. If desired memorials would be appreciated to the Hamilton Cemetery c/o Ed Hamilton 2957 Hwy N. 19 Cuba, Missouri 65453.
