Earnest Burnell Parker of Rising Star, Texas formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born on August 3, 1932 to the union of Joseph L. and Rosella M. (Reese) Parker in Bunker, Missouri and left from this life on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Medical Center of Arlington, Texas at the age of 79. Earnest was united in marriage to Shirley E. Jackson on April 15, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union three children were born Bill, Sharon and Laura. Earnest was a Tool & Dye Maker for many years, finishing his career at Electrovert in Camdenton, Missouri. He was an avid outdoor sportsman, raised quail dogs and hunted with them for more than 60 years. He enjoyed spending time with his older brothers as they pursued his outdoor hobbies, fishing and working at the ranch. He mastered the art of raising his own birds to train and then turn them into the wild to help the bird population around his home in Cuba and Cross Plains. The Senior Center in both Cuba, Missouri and then the Senior Center in Cross Plains, Texas were almost an everyday visit for the last ten years, allowing him to enjoy a competitive game of pool with his friends. Since moving to Texas a little over five years ago, he has assisted in building a new home and started a small cattle ranch from scratch. Earnest is preceded in death by his parents Joseph L. and Rosella M. (Reese) Parker; wife Shirley E. Parker; one daughter Laura Frohbeiter; twelve brothers and sisters Lewis, Samuel, Sebert, Rachel, Troy, Byrtle, Delphia, Alva, Melvin, William, Jesse and Wilma. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his daughter Sharon and husband Michael Plouder of Herculaneum, Missouri; son William and wife Carol Parker of Midlothian, Texas; six grandchildren Michelle and husband Andrew White, Kelly and husband Robert Balay, Bradley Parker, Ryan and wife Starr Parker, Amber and husband Matthew Harris, Andrew Hicks; four great-grandchildren Kyle White, Zachary Keck, Caiden Balay and Hurley Parker; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held Friday, March 30, 2012 10:30 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Honored to be serving as pallbearers Andrew White, Robert Balay, Bradley Parker, Ryan Parker, Matthew Harris, Andrew Hicks. The Mizell Funeral Home is Honored to be serving the Parker family.
