Earl Dwane Vincent, 74, of Cuba, surrounded by his loving wife and family, passed into the eternal presence of the Lord on June 10, 2024 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
On October 29, 1949, Earl was born to the union of Forest and Maire (Taber) Vincent in Cuba, Missouri.
Earl was blessed to celebrate 56 years of love with his wife Nancy (Skyles). They were married on June 8, 1968 (6-8-68) at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba.
Earl was a hardworking, dedicated public servant for the United States Postal Service for 34 years.
During his career, he worked as a clerk/carrier in Cuba and Postmaster in Leasburg, Crocker, and Steelville. Earl was a bright smile to many and diligent to meet the needs of residents and businesses of the communities he served. He appreciated his coworkers and celebrated his retirement in October of 2004.
Earl prioritized spending time with his family. He enjoyed sharing his love of the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, with his son-in-laws and grandchildren. Some of his favorite pastimes were teaching his daughters to ride horses, raise cattle and chickens, play softball and golf. His girls lovingly remember his gentleness and patience. He cherished spending time with family and friends drinking coffee in his rocker on the porch. He enjoyed playing golf and cards with friends at the Cuba Golf Course. He was a great father, friend, and mentor to many.
After retirement, Earl and Nancy with their family were fortunate to travel and enjoyed the beauty and history of this country. These trips not only held lasting memories for Earl but will forever be fond memories for his family to cherish in his absence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Marie Vincent; and one infant sister, Patsy Vincent. Father and Mother-in law, Robert and Frances Skyles.
Earl is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Vincent of Cuba; three daughters, Dena Hope and husband Rick of Rolla, Tonya Farace and husband Scott of Cuba and Jessica Easler and husband Doug of Chesterfield; one sister, EmmaJean Lauck and husband Vincent of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Bethany Bartle of Indiana, Alexandrea Farace of St. Clair, Rochelle Hope (Chris Bell) of Rolla, Madison Farace of Cuba, Macy, Jett, David, and Muzetta Easler of Chesterfield; ten great-grandchildren, Zachary, Adelyn, Wyatt and Tucker Bartle, Makenna Hope, William Kean, Weston and Waylon Bell and Remmington and Draco Hemby; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces; nephews; other relatives and certainly many friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, June 14, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Siteman Cancer Center Tribute.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude for the powerful prayers of so many during the multiple battles with cancer while offering praise to God for healing and continued hope. A special thank you to the caring doctors, nurses, and hospital staff of BJC and WashU, especially Dr. Clifford G. Robinson, who spoke truth with compassion and never doubted Earl's ability to defy medical expectations and outcomes.
Earl is described by his family with Proverbs 17:27. "Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding."
