Dorothy Mae Fooks of Cuba, Missouri was born on March 4, 1927 in San Pedro, California to the union of Oscar and Lucille (Stripe) Cagle. She went Dancing with the Angels on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 83. Dorothy was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church, a member of the 3rd Order of Franciscans and was a long time cook at Holy Cross Catholic School. Her passion in life was to serve others thru Christ. Dorothy was a simple lady and she enjoyed bird watching, cooking, crocheting and putting together puzzles. Her favorite part of a meal was dessert and she truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Lucille (Stripe) Cagle; husband Melvin L. Fooks; one infant sister Doris Cagle and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her three sons Mark and wife Starlite Fooks of Cuba, Missouri, Mitchell and wife Gloria Fooks of St. Clair, Missouri, Melvin and wife Debra Fooks of Jefferson City, Missouri; eight grandchildren Rachel and husband Shannon Littrell of Cuba, Missouri, Michael and wife Maria Fooks of Jefferson City, Missouri, Shelbey Fooks of Cuba, Missouri, Matthew Fooks of St. Clair, Missouri, Ryan Fooks of San Antonia, Texas, Michelle Fooks of Jefferson City, Missouri, Bryant and wife Deidra Fooks of Jefferson City, Missouri, Lisa and husband James Myers of Colorado; twelve great-grandchildren Haley, Jamison, Tyrus, Simon, Alayna, Dylan, Evan, Taylor, Rae Ann, Mary Rose, Donovan and soon to be Baby Boy Littrell; one niece Pat and husband Jerry Homan and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. James Finder as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Fooks family.
