Dorothy Ann Yates

Dorothy Ann Yates of Cuba, Missouri was born on December 17, 1949 at Cuba, Missouri to the union of James F. and Arlene (Jacobsen) Souders. She left from this life on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 67 years. Dorothy was united in marriage to Jimmy Yates on June 12, 1971 in Cuba, Missouri and to this union three children were born Jonathan, Timothy and Jeanette. Dorothy was a homemaker, she loved taking care of her home and family. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and canning. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents James F. and Arlene (Jacobsen) Souders; infant son Jonathan Yates; two brothers Ervin and Albert Souders. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving husband Jimmy Yates of the home; two children Timothy and Jeanette Yates both of Cuba, Missouri; one brother Norman Souders of Cuba, Missouri; one sister-in-law Betsy (Jim) Shockley of Cuba, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Private Interment will be held on Friday at Licklider Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Yates family.
