Donald L. "Whitey" Stahlhut of Leasburg, Missouri formerly of Moro, Illinois was born to the union of Louis H. and Marie (Glassmeyer) Stahlhut on July 3, 1935 in Ft. Russell Twp, Illinois and left from this life on Monday, October 15, 2007 in Leasburg, Missouri at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 12 days. Donald was united marriage to Helen Franke on May 19, 1957 in Edwardsville, Illinois and to this union five children were born Kurt, Sherry, Cindy, Tracy and Robin. Donald retired from the Olin Corp. in 1994 after 41 years of dedicated service as a supervisor. Donald was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He played fast pitch softball in Edwardsville, Belleville and Alton. Other hobbies include bowling, fishing, hunting, trap and skeet shooting. Donald is preceded in death by his parents Louis H. and Marie (Glassmeyer) Stahlhut. Those who are left to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Helen Stahlhut of the home; one son Kurt and wife Vicki Stahlhut of Troy, Illinois; four daughters Sherry and husband Terry Riva of Staunton, Illinois, Cindy and husband Paul Callahan of Waterloo, Illinois, Tracy and husband Donald, Jr. Colburn of Brighton, Illinois and Robin Stahlhut of Leasburg, Missouri; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one brother Ronald Stahlhut of South Dakota. Visitation: Friday, October 19, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. at Weber and Rodney Funeral Home 304 N. Main St. Edwardsville, Illinois. Funeral: Saturday, October 20, 2007 11:00 a.m. at Weber and Rodney Funeral Home, Edwardsville, Illinois with Rev. Paul Lathum, officiating. Interment: St. John's Church Cemetery, Midway, Illinois. Memorial Service: Sunday, October 28, 2007 3:00 p.m. at the Cuba United Methodist Church 903 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. If desired memorials would be appreciated to the Parkinsons Disease Association - St. Louis Chapter or Cuba United Methodist Church. Local arrangements under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
