Donald G. Reid

Donald G. Reid of Leasburg, Missouri was born Wednesday, May 15, 1940 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Harold and Irene (nee: Montgomery) Reid. He left from this life on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at his home in Leasburg at the age of 79 years.

Donald was united in marriage to Shirley Whitaker on May 7, 1971 in St. Louis, Missouri and they were the proud parents of one daughter; Callie.

Donald retired in 1994 after thirty plus years of driving for Yellow Freight. He was an avid St. Louis sports fan, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and grilling. He liked different types of cars throughout his lifetime and for the past few years he like pickup trucks. He loved spending his days with his dogs "Penny" and "Luke". But what he truly treasured most in life was spending time with his family and friends.

Donald was a loving son, husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, stepfather, uncle, great uncle and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Irene Reid, wife Shirley Reid, daughter Callie Reid, stepson Danny Armstrong, two brothers Sam Reid and Franklin Reid and other family and friends.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his brother; Jerry and wife Leona Reid of St. Peters, Missouri, sister; Barbara and husband Denis Feld of Akron, Ohio, step daughter; Jill Armstrong of Illinois, best friends; Kerri, Wayne, Dennis, Ron, Rich and Tom, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Route 66, Cuba.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl,
Memphis, Tennessee 38105 in Donald's memory.
