Donald D. Chrisco of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, May 14, 1939 at Eminence, Missouri to the union of Dan and Esther Marie (Nee: Hawkins) Chrisco and left from this life on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Gibbs Care Center, Steelville, Missouri at the age of 77 years. Donald proudly served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne from 6 June 1958 till 5 May 1961. He received the Parachutist Badge. Donald was united in marriage to Jerry Ann Thompson on December 19, 1959 at Igloo, South Dakota and they are the proud parents of one daughter Laura. Donald received a B.A. from Tarkio University in Tarkio, Missouri. He retired after many years of dedicated service from Vickers Electromech as the Vice President and Director of Materials. Donald enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially baseball, bowling and golf. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. What Donald truly enjoyed most in life was spending time with his family and friends. Donald was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great uncle and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Donald is preceded in death by his parents Dan Chrisco and Esther Hawkins, one brother Vern Chrisco, one sister-in-law Gloria Chrisco and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of nearly fifty seven years Jerry Ann Chrisco of the home, one daughter Laura (Lisa Smith) Chrisco of St. Louis, two grandsons Christopher Cashion and Ryan Cashion of St. Charles, one great grandchild Elijah, two brothers Dave Chrisco (Arlene Martin) of Salem, Missouri and Jimmy Chrisco of Arkansas, two sisters Jean Milligan of Bourbon, and Susie and husband Dave Ard of Salem, Missouri, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A memorial committal service with full military honors will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in the Chapel of Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Drive, St. Louis, Missouri. (Please meet behind the Jefferson Barracks Administration Building at 12:45 pm). "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipe will conclude the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Foundation in Donald's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Chrisco family.
