Dolorece M. Gibson (nee: Britton) of Pacific, Missouri was born to the union of John L. and Allie (Wilkinson) Britton on Monday, October 2, 1922 in Huzzah, Missouri and left from this life on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Mary Mount Nursing Center in Eureka, Missouri at the age of 91. Dolorece was united in marriage to Edgar Freeman Gibson on March 29, 1942 at Belgrade, Missouri and to this union four children were born Phyllis, Kenneth, Wayne and Judith. Dolorece spent several years as the Business Manager for the City of St. Louis Circuit Court Juvenile Division. She enjoyed being a minister's wife, traveling with and being her husband's assistant at church and wherever needed. Together they spent 27 years devoted to the Zion Baptist Church in South St. Louis County. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, gardening, tending to her fruit trees and canning. Dolorece was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend of many. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Dolorece is preceded in death by her parents John L. and Allie (Wilkinson) Britton; husband Rev. Edgar Freeman Gibson; one son Kenneth Gibson; two sisters Marie Darst and Beulah Akers; one brother Alfred Britton; son-in-law Dave Fulmer; brothers-in-law Harry Darst, Charlie Akers, George Richeson, Louie Asher, Cletis Homer Gibson and sister-in-law Sue Gibson and other family and friends. Those who left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy is her three children Phyllis K. Fulmer of Benton, Arkansas, Wayne L. and wife Marsha Gibson of Lenexa, Kansas, Judith A. and husband Dr. Charles Curtman of Pacific, Missouri; one daughter-in-law Donna Gibson of O'Fallon, Illinois; two sisters Opal and husband Joe Wilkerson of Potosi, Missouri, Erma and husband Dr. Jack Holley of O'Fallon, Missouri; two brothers John T. and wife Ava Britton and Donald and wife Madeline Britton all of Cuba, Missouri; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Barbara Walls of Potosi, Missouri, Mary Belle Richeson of Potosi, Missouri, Wilma Jean Asher of Jacksonville, Texas, Johnnie Gibson of Potosi, Missouri, Harry Gibson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Charles "Dennis" and wife Reba Gibson of Jackson, Mississippi; seven grandsons, six granddaughters, thirty-five great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 17617 Manchester Road Wildwood, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 12:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 17617 Manchester Road, Wildwood, Missouri with Dr. Charles Curtman, officiating. Interment and prayers will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Redbud Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri. Honored to be serving as pallbearers are Denton Fulmer, Andy Gibson, Darren Gibson, Matthew Fox, Jason Curtman, Zach Curtman and Paul Curtman. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Cornerstone Baptist Church Missions Fund. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Gibson family.
