Deloris G. Sherman

Deloris "Dee" G. Sherman of Rochester, New York formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of the late D.A. and Mabel (Fritz) Gibson on July 29, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri and left this life on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Wesley Gardens in Rochester, New York at the age of 83 years 9 months and 16 days. Deloris was united in marriage to William "Bill" M. Sherman, Jr. on November 17, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union three children were born: Barbara, Robert and William III. Dee and Bill shared 53 years of marriage together. Dee and Bill retired in 1988 and moved to Cuba, Missouri and made their home at Indian Hills Lake. Dee was a member of Cuba United Methodist Church. Dee is preceded in death by her parents D.A. Gibson and Mabel (Fritz) Gibson; husband Rev. William "Bill" M. Sherman, Jr.; one son, William M. Sherman, III. Those who are left to cherish her memory and to continue her legacy are her daughter Dr. Barbara Heifferon of Rochester, New York; son Robert and wife Barbara Sherman of Apache Junction, Arizona; daughter-in-law Susan Sherman Sellers of Owensville, Missouri; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Dee was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a good friend to all who knew her. A memorial service will take place Saturday, July 5, 2008 10:00 a.m. at Cuba United Methodist Church in Cuba, Missouri.
