Delmar E. Mckellips

Delmar Eugene McKellips of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Darwin Emerson McKellips and Blanche Esther (Treadway) McKellips in North Platte, Nebraska on June 9, 1934 and left from this life on Sunday, June 24, 2007 in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 73 years and 15 days. Delmar was united in marriage to Linda M. Chandler on June 22, 1972 in Murphysboro, Illinois. Delmar was affectionately known to family and friends as "Tuff". He retired as a truck driver from Septic Tank Services in Union, Missouri. He proudly served his country in U.S. Army. His interest included fishing, hunting, camping, horses, a game of horse shoes or pinnacle. Also he was known to make some of the best home made ice cream. Delmar was preceded in death by his parents Darwin Emerson McKellips and Blanche Esther (Treadway) McKellips. a daughter Lawanda Mae McKellips; two brothers Melvin and Marvin McKellips; one sister Alice Ione Hammack. Those who are left to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Linda M. McKellips (nee: Chandler) of the home; two sons Michael and wife Tanya McKellips and Matthew McKellips both of Cuba, Missouri; two daughters Michelle and husband Alan White of Coulterville, Illinois and Melinda McKellips of Cuba, Missouri; one sister Joyce Ryther of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation: Monday, June 25, 2007 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral: Tuesday, June 26, 2007 1:00 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home with Bro. Ernest Johnson officiating. Services will conclude with full military honors. Interment: Private The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri is honored to be serving the McKellips family.
