Deborah Kay "Debbie" Schatz

January 22, 1953 — November 21, 2019

Deborah Kay "Debbie" Schatz of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Kenneth and Glendola (Sears) Morse on January 22, 1953 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She left from this life, surrounded by her family at her home, on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the age of 66 years.

Debbie was a member of Anointed Faith Tabernacle Church. She served on the Board of Directors of Disabled Citizens Alliance for Independence in Viburnum and helped form Heartland Independent Living Center in Owensville. She knew what it was like to be disabled and she loved helping others live an independent life.

She always had a great sense of humor and she loved spoiling her two dogs Buster and Pooter. She enjoyed working on crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

Debbie was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend to many. She will deeply be missed, by all who knew and loved her.

Debbie is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Glendola (Sears) Morse; husband Jerry Schatz and other relatives and friends.

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her three children Sonja Stroup of Cuba, Gary Freeman of Sullivan, Matt Freeman of Cuba; five grandchildren Mark and Gary Freeman, Ashley Shade, Breanna King and Korrin Schmidtke; three great-grandchildren Liam Shade, Oliver and Lillian Downing; six sisters Patricia Paxton of Leavenworth, Kansas, Vicki Vanco of Martinez, Georgia, Pamela Lohmeyer, Sandra McCullim, Karen Reynolds, Sharon Morse; one brother Kenneth Morse, Jr. all of St, Joseph, Missouri; nieces, nephews and many friends.

In keeping with her wishes, Debbie will be cremated. Private family services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the Cuba Animal Control Shelter 224 Enterprise Dr. Cuba, Missouri 65453.
