Deborah J. "Debbie" Gassmann of Cuba, Missouri was born on February 2, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Kenneth E. and Barbara (Gee) Johanpeter and left from this life on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 63. Debbie was united in marriage to Russell Gassmann on March 11, 1971 in St. Louis, Missouri. Debbie worked several years for the Crawford County R2 School District as a cook , later working in the office for Swinger Sanitation and was the Avon Lady in Cuba for 17 years. She enjoyed being a story teller, lots of laughter, traveling, camping, going out to eat, baking and spoiling her grandchildren. Debbie is preceded in death by her parents Kenneth E. and Barbara J. (Gee) Johanpeter. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her husband Russell Gassmann of Cuba, Missouri; two children Jake and wife Kerry Gassmann of Cuba, Missouri, Jessica and husband Robert Leonard of Nixa, Missouri; three adorable grandchildren Taylor, Kloe and Lilliy; one aunt Charlotte Pauley of Cuba, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends. A time of sharing will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 7:00 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home with Lesa M. Mizell as the celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Gassmann family.
