David John Murray of Cuba, Missouri was born September 28, 1947 at Skiatook, Oklahoma to the union of Harry John Murray and Amanda Rebecca (nee: Staniford) Murray and left from this life on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at the age of 59 years and 20 days. David served in the United States Army from 1964 until 1975. He was stationed in Africa from 1972-1974. David was the owner/operator of the Louisiana Bay and the Smokey Mountain Bar-B-Que restaurants in Tulsa, OK for many years. David was a very talented person, he made beautiful pieces of jewelry for over 30 years and baskets for the past 6 years. He was always making or creating something and was truly willing to learn about something new. David knew the make, model and what type of motor was in every old car, but best of all he knew how to fix and repair them. David moved to Cuba in March of this year after the hurricane hit his home in Gulf Port, Mississippi. David was a loving son, father, grandfather, companion, brother, brother in law, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. David is preceded in death by his parents Harry John and Amanda Rebecca Murray, one brother Joe Murray, other relatives and friends. Those who are left to mourn his passing is his loving daughter Keli and husband Jim Mulkey of Cuba, Missouri, companion of 8 years Carolyn Hinton of Cuba, Missouri, two grandchildren; Makenzie Lynn and Brining James Mulkey of Cuba, Missouri, one sister Ann and husband Bill Kirkpatrick of Strafford, Kansas, four stepchildren; Bobby, Kari, Tina and Shelly, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Graveside service 11 AM Monday, October 23rd at Osage Gardens Cemetery, Skiatook, OK. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Children's Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri, in David's memory. Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the the Murray family.
