David Brian Mcgrath

David Brian McGrath of Jefferson City, Missouri formerly of Bourbon, Missouri was born on August 31, 1956 in Saginaw, Michigan and left from this life suddenly on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City, Missouri at the age of 56. David was the Business Teacher at the New Bloomfield High School, New Bloomfield, Missouri and formerly at the Bourbon High School in Bourbon, Missouri. David enjoyed swimming, fishing, bicycling, raising chickens and rabbits and spending time with family and friends. David was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Gwen McGrath of Jefferson City, Missouri; two guardian children Nataleigh and Kaleb Herr of Jefferson City, Missouri; father Gary M. and wife Nellie McGrath of Leasburg, Missouri and mother Nancy Thurston of Port Austin, Michigan; three children Katy Kirklin of Michigan, Kelli Henderson of Virginia and Keenan McGrath of Maryland; two brothers Timothy and Christopher McGrath both of Port Austin, Michigan; two sisters Margaret Fields of Amarillo, Texas and Sandra Merrill of Saginaw, Michigan; six grandchildren, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, one uncle, cousins and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 10:00 a.m. at Mizell Funeral Home. As per his wishes, David will be cremated following the service. If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the American Heart Association. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the McGrath family.
