David Andrew Rowland of Leasburg, Missouri was born Wednesday, October 10, 1928 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of William D. and Jessie (nee: Russell) Rowland and left from this life on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 79 years 5 months and 20 days. David served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. David was united in marriage to Thelma Pratt on January 20, 1951 at Salem, Arkansas and to this union two children were born Larry and Connie. David worked as a machinist for 38 years at McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) in St. Louis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leasburg, Sullivan Lodge #69 A.F. & A.M., Korean War Association in Rolla, Crawford County Memorial Post #88 A.L. In his spare time he enjoyed being a coin collector, farming, his cattle and just being a country boy. But what he treasured most, was spending time with his family and friends. David was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father in law, grandfather, brother in law, uncle, cousin and friend of all. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. David is preceded in death by his parents William and Jessie Rowland, one brother in law Marvin Ware and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to celebrate his life is his loving wife Thelma Rowland of the home, one son Larry Rowland of Leasburg, one daughter Connie and husband Michael Stephens of Cuba, two granddaughters Jennifer and husband John Lindsey of Columbia, Missouri and Sarah Stephens of Cuba, two brothers Sam and wife Sherry Rowland of Rolla and William and wife Debbie Rowland of Colorado Springs, Co, five sisters; Cleo and husband Ed Carlisle of Leasburg, Viola Ware of Cuba, Betty and husband Allen Enloe of Bridgeton, Wilma and husband Floyd Kitchen of Cuba and Ruth and husband Carl Lee of St. Charles and a host of nieces, nephews, brother in laws, sister in laws and friends. Visitation Wednesday, April 2nd from 5-8 PM with an American Legion Service 6:30 p.m. and a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service 1 p.m. Thursday, April 3rd with Pastor Tony Amato officiating. Special music for the service "How Great Thou Art". Interment will follow at Crow Cemetery, Bourbon, with full military honors. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Rowland family.
