Curtis W. "Bill" Crolley of Cuba, Missouri was born Thursday December 23, 1937 at Mullens, South Carolina to the union of Curtis Jefferson and Julia Belle (nee: Campbell) Crolley. Bill left from this life, surrounded by family, on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at St. Clare Hospital, Fenton, Missouri at the age of 80 years. Bill joined the United States Air Force on April 8, 1957 and retired on July 1, 1977. He served in Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Alaska, Philippines and during the Vietnam Conflict. Bill retired as a Master Sergeant (MSGT) Aerospace Control and Warning System Superintendent. Bill earned the AFLSA w/ 4 Brn OLC and AFGEM w/3 OLC. Bill was united in marriage to Jeanette "Jeannie" Kricensky on Saturday, June 15, 1963 at Belleville, Illinois and they were the proud parents of Curtis. After returning home from the Air Force, Bill went to work for Bunny Bread as a delivery driver in Granite City, Illinois. He retired a second time in 1995 from Bunny Bread after eighteen years of dedicated service. October 16, 1996 Bill and Jeannie moved to Indian Hills and Bill began his third career of working on cars. He was a self-taught mechanic, welder, painter and interior reupholster. He restored Mustangs, a 57 Chevy, an Impala and many other cars. Bill was a very compassionate person and believed in always helping others. He was a member of the Cuba Car Club, lifetime member of the Cuba VFW and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He always loved to eat out, socializing and he would make friends wherever he went. What he truly treasured most in life was spending time with his family and friends. Bill was a loving son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa, uncle, great uncle, Bubba, brother-in-law and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Curtis Jefferson and Julia Belle Crolley, two brothers; Bobby Crolley and Leroy Crolley, two sisters-in-law Alene and husband Robert "Jr" Duncan and Jean "Mary Lou and husband Milton Morris, Jr. and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife of fifty five years Jeannie Crolley of Cuba, one son; Curtis and wife Charlotte Crolley of Olathe, Kansas, two amazing grandsons; Kyle Crolley and Cameron Crolley of Olathe, Kansas, one brother Eugene "Gene" Crolley of Columbia, South Carolina, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other family and friends. A memorial graveside service, with military honors, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Valhalla Gardens of Memory and Mausoleum, 3412 Frank Scott Pkwy West, Belleville, Illinois, 62223. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving Bill's family.
