Courtney Mae Jost

Courtney Mae Jost nee Dotson of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Bluford and Dora B. (Pasch) Dotson on August 28, 1921 in Oak Hill, Missouri and gently went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 26, 2010 surrounded by family and her Cuba Manor family at the age of 89. Courtney was united in marriage to Bransford W. Jost on April 7, 1939 in Steelville, Missouri and to this union one daughter was born Judy. Courtney was a member of the First Baptist Church of Owensville, Missouri. She retired at the age of 62 after 44 years at Brown Shoe Company of Owensville, Missouri. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, canning and spending time with her family and friends. Courtney was a Loving and devoted mother, sister and a friend to everyone who knew her. Her home always reflected her great love for her family, where everyone was greeted with hugs and kisses. Being the oldest of 10 children it was important to her that her brothers and sisters and their families always knew her house was a home they could all come to, filled with memories, made of love. After all Gods greatest Commandment is Love. Her walk through life was Love. She is preceded in death by her parents Bluford and Dora Dotson; her husband Bransford W. Jost, brothers Reuben, Rufus and Jackson Dotson; sisters Goldie Spurgeon and Marie Dotson; sister-in-law Connie Dotson; brother-in-law Ezro Spurgeon. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her daughter Judy Jane and husband W. Russell 郢邀邜Rusty郢邀邝 Lea of Steelville, Missouri; brothers Charles and wife Leathea Dotson of Owensville, Missouri, Tony E. and wife Deanna Dotson of St. Charles, Missouri, Robert Dotson of Festus, Missouri; sister Shirley V. and husband Frank Schalk of Owensville, Missouri; sisters-in-law Goldie Dotson of Owensville, Missouri and Linnette Dotson of Wright City, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 11:00 a.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Leo Robertson, officiating. Interment will follow at Countryside Memorial Gardens, Owensville, Missouri. Memorials would be appreciated to the Cuba Manor Resident and Staff Fund. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Jost family.
