Clyde John Weirich of St. James, Missouri was born September 2, 1933 at Washington, Missouri to the union of Clyde E. and Nora (nee: Shipley) Weirich. He passed on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri at the age of 81 years. Clyde proudly served in the United States Army from April 1953 till March 1955 during the Korean war. After his service he was a driver for Holsum Bread serving the mid-Missouri area. Later, he was the owner/operator of Weirich's Café in Gerald, Missouri and Kerr-McGee service station in Jefferson City. Clyde retired from Crawford County after spending several years working for the road district. Throughout his life Clyde enjoyed activities such as hunting, fishing, cooking and watching John Wayne movies with friends and family. After retiring he spent hours at his farm, fishing and hunting. His large pond was full of catfish and the family gathered there to fish, have cookouts and spend hours together laughing and having fun. Clyde moved to the Missouri Veterans Home in October of 2008 where he made many new friends and spent time playing Bingo, talking and drinking coffee with other veterans. Along with other actives, he enjoyed phone calls from family and especially his brother Jack. Clyde was a loving son, brother, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Clyde is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Nora Weirich, one grandson Chad Fleischmann, five sisters Leona Halley, Alice Weirich, Ida Mae Shultz, Dorothy Portell and Kathryn Weirich and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory are his three sons and three daughters (the children of Clyde and Pearl (Bascom) Weirich) all of Missouri include: daughter Rebecca and husband Virgil Plassmeyer of Holts Summit, son, Kevin Weirich of Wainwright, daughter, Stephanie and husband Randy Adrian of Holts Summit, daughter, Carla Weirich of New Bloomfield, son, Bryan and wife Rhonda Weirich of Jefferson City, and son, Chester Daniel and wife Shanna Weirich of Jefferson City, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother Jack and wife Colleen Weirich of Sweet Home, Oregon, two sisters Elizabeth "Betty" Weaks of St. Louis, Missouri and Florence Wisniewski of St. Louis, Missouri, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. In keeping with Clyde's wishes he was cremated and no public services will be held.
