Clotilda E. "Cloe" Nisbet

April 14, 1930 — February 4, 2020

Clotilda Elise "Cloe" Nisbet (nee: Dryden) of St. Louis and formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born on Monday, April 14, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Winton F. and Marie L. (Nee: Karst) Dryden. She left from this life on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Mary Queen & Mother Center, St. Louis at the age of 89 years.

She graduated from St. Marks High School and attended Maryville College. Cloe (as her family and friends know her) worked at Catholic Hospital Association and Kellogg's before marrying George H. Nisbet on January 8, 1955.

Cloe and George had seven children. They lived in south St. Louis before relocating to O'Fallon, Illinois for five years. When the family moved back to St. Louis in August 1962, they settled in Vinita Park and were residents for over thirty-two years. The family belonged to St. Rita Catholic Church during those years.

When the last of the children were in high school, Cloe went to work for Wexford Labs. After several years she moved to Washington University's food service company. She retired from there in 1993.

Cloe and George fulfilled their dreams of moving to a farm and owning a few horses in 1994. They found a beautiful place outside Cuba, Missouri and built their house. They enjoyed their life there immensely and were even happier when their kids and grandkids visited.

Cloe had a pair of binoculars on a table by the large living room windows so she could watch the many birds and various wildlife that came to their yard and pastures. While in Cuba, they belonged to Holy Cross Catholic Church, and became valuable members and volunteers for the community.

Cloe enjoyed riding horses, playing volleyball and basketball, playing the piano, working crossword puzzles in ink, playing solitaire, bridge, rummy, crocheting, knitting, reading, listening to St. Louis Cardinals baseball even while enjoying camping trips to Sam A. Baker State Park and other places, St. Louis U Billikens basketball, and Blues hockey.
