Clifford Carl Stewart of Cuba, Missouri was born February 28, 1934 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Horace and Elizabeth Jane (nee: Burleson) Stewart and left from this life on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 80 years. Cliff was united in marriage to Joann "Jodi" Rector on October 8, 1954 at the Presbyterian Church in Cuba, Missouri and to this union three children were born; Carla, Cathy and Kevin. Cliff worked for Switzer in Rolla, Missouri from 1970 till 2000 and retired as a Customer Liaison. Cliff was the first hired employee for Switzer and he trained all of the first crew at the Rolla VO Tech on how to operate the machinery. Switzer made all the fan blades for the auto industry. After retiring Cliff owned and operated Stewart Painting and due to his health he retired again in 2005. Cliff spent years playing the guitar and singing in a band. He made stain glass windows, did needle point, tole painting and spent hours doing wood working. He always like the old classic cars and he could even restore them. He was a member of the Rolla Car Club, past master and former secretary of the Cuba Masonic Lodge #312 A.F. & A.M, attended the Trinity Chapel for years and for the last few years attended the Cuba United Methodist Church. Cliff loved spending time with his family and friends. Cliff was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend of many. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Cliff is preceded in death by his parents Horace Stewart and Elizabeth Jane Stewart Ray, his wife Jodi Stewart, two brothers William and Charles "Chuck" Stewart, one brother-in-law Bill Albrecht and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his children Carla and husband David Koch of Columbia, Cathy Stewart of St. Louis, Missouri and Kevin Stewart of Arizona, one grandson David and wife Stephanie Woodruff of Colorado, one great grandchildren to be born in June, one brother Bob and wife Joyce Stewart of Cuba, two sisters June Albrecht of Cuba and Nancy and husband Don Fisher of Fort Mauve, Arizona, two sisters-in-law Marilyn Stewart of Cuba and Lou Stewart of Waynesville, Missouri, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 12 Noon till 2:00 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Masonic service will be held at 2:00 PM followed directly by the funeral service with Chaplain Lindy Hartwick officiating. Special music will be "Crossing the Bar"; Three Old Rust Nails" and "Wings of a Dove". A private family interment and prayers will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Phelps County Hospice or the Cuba Masonic Lodge #312 A.F. & A.M. in Cliff's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Stewart family.
