Chimer Vaughn Davis of Cuba, Missouri was born on December 21, 1931 in Wytheville, Virginia to Mallie Vaughn Osborn. He left from this life on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at his home at the age of 90.
Chimer attended school in Wytheville, Virginia until the age of 17 years old and he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Reserves, he was moved to active duty and served during the Korean War. He served as a sniper for four years in the Marine Corps. and then he enlisted in the United States Air Force, in which he served six years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Chimer worked forty-five years as the Keno Manager at the Silverton Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, skiing and fishing. He loved spending time with Annie and spoiling their two fur babies Peppy and Chloe.
Chimer is preceded in death by his mother Mallie Vaughn Osborne.
Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Annie (Province) Davis of Cuba; one sister Shirley Hudson of Wytheville, Virginia; seven children Kim Davis and wife Nuansawat of Thailand, Tim Davis and wife Christine of Las Vegas, Marvin Davis and wife Diane of Las Vegas, Lori Potter of Tyler, Texas, Teresa Gonzales of Las Vegas, Barbara “Jo” Davis of Las Vegas; three step-children Jacqueline Thomas and husband Rick of Bourbon, Daniel Parks, Jr. and wife Aonisty of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Lee Parks and wife Heather of Cuba; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church Tuesday, June 14, 2022.
His cremated remains will be placed in the Columbarium Wall with Military Honors at the Veterans Cemetery in Las Vegas, Nevada.
