Charles Richard Bufford of St. James and formerly of St. Charles, Missouri was born to the union of George C. and Floyce Leona (Feagan) Bufford on January 10, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri. He left from this life on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri at the age of 71 years. Richard honorably served his country in the United States Army from February 21, 1966 to February 20, 1969. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Citation Medal, 1 Overseas Service Bar and the Sharpshooter Badge. Richard was a retiree of Laborers' Local 660, St. Charles, Missouri. He enjoyed having a good time, hunting, fishing and shooting a game of pool. Richard is preceded in death by his parents George C. Bufford and Floyce Leona (Feagan) Anderson; one brother Don C. Bufford; one sister Sheila Perkins and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his son George Bufford of Rosebud, Missouri; two granddaughters Amber and Katlyn Bufford of Rosebud, Missouri; former wife Donna Featherston of Rosebud, Missouri; one aunt Laura Climer of Marble Hill, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Ft. Leonard Wood State Veterans Cemetery, Waynesville, Missouri with Chaplain Harold Harrison, officiating. Full military honors and interment will follow the service. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the family of Charles Richard Bufford.
