Charles 'Larry' Holtz

Charles Larry Holtz of Cuba, Missouri was born July 22, 1944 at Kirkwood, Missouri to the union of Charles D. "Bud" and Virginia (Mitchell) Holtz and left from this life on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 68 years. Larry proudly served in the United States Army. He worked most of his life as a Tool & Dye Maker finishing his career at Gen Corporation. He enjoyed working on the farm, gardening, tractors, putting up hay, hunting and his dogs Casper, Mickey, Little Bit, Squirrel, Jessie and Snow. Larry was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Larry is preceded in death by his parents Bud and Virginia Holtz, one grandson Charles Matthew Holtz, former wife Connie Marlene Hager and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Verna Holtz of the home, seven children Angie and husband Randy Coleman of Sullivan, Charles Nicholas Holtz and friend Sandy Turner of Beaufort, Missouri, Kim and husband Dave Kestler of Sullivan, Missouri, Dwayne and wife Dorothy King of Kansas City, Missouri, Cherise Gee of Rolla, Missouri, Holly Holtz and fiance Michael Winstead of St. Louis, Missouri and Charles Christopher Holtz and fiance Ashley Kitson of Cuba, sisters Carol and husband Ed Lynch of O'Fallon, Missouri and Ramona and husband Ray Shinkle of Arizona, brother Gary and wife Shirley Holtz of Atlanta, Georgia, twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 5 till 8 PM at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 West Washington, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba with Pastor Don Martin officiating. Special music will be "The Wayward Wind" "Poor Mans Roses" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Interment, prayers and full military honors will follow at the Keith Cemetery, Iron County, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Holtz family.
