Charles A. Schumer

Charles A. Schumer of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Edward F. and Clara (Schlatman) Schumer on October 25, 1933 in Perryville, Missouri and left from this life on Friday, May 8, 2009 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 75 years 6 months and 14 days. Charlie was a retiree of American Can Company in St. Louis, MO. He formerly owned & operated Charlie & Sons Hardware in South St. Louis. He enjoyed being a Handy Man and rehabbing homes. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents Edward F. and Clara (Schlatman) Schumer; three brothers Elbert, Cletus and Leroy Schumer; two sisters Rosalia Renaud and Loretta Finn. Those who are left to cherish his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Pat Schumer (nee: Taylor) of Cuba, MO; eight children Edward Schumer of Chesterfield, MO; Karen (John) Brooks of Chesterfield, MO; John (Susan) Schumer of Shrewsbury, MO; Laura (Dan) Furrer of Oakville, MO; Diane (Rick) Shreves of O'Fallon, MO; Renee (Mike) Floyd of Eureka, MO; Marc (Jill) Schumer of Kansas City, MO and Kurt (Nicole) Schumer of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters Dorothy Farishon of Florissant, MO and Lucille (Bob) Sego of Cuba, MO; 29 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral Mass: Wednesday, May 13, 2009 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. James Finder as the Celebrant. Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
