Catherine A. Philpot (nee: Kolb) was born November 4, 1930 at Cincinnati, Ohio to the union of Harvey Jacob Kolb and Myrtle Alice (nee: Boland) Kolb and left from this life on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 75 years 9 months and 13 days. Catherine was united in marriage to Ballard Philpot on June 28, 1949 at Cincinnati, Ohio and to this union six children were born; James, John, Carrie, Cheryl, Jeffrey and Joseph. Catherine was an owner operator of an Income Tax Company in California for several years. They moved from California to Cuba in 1995. Catherine was a member of the Golden Mariners Organization, the Three Mile Club, and secretary of the bowling league in Las Vegas. She enjoyed traveling (and got to see every place she wanted to see), cruises, Las Vegas, all kinds of puzzles, reading, bowling, swimming, genealogy, dancing, but most of all her family was her #1 priority. Catherine was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister in law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend of many, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Myrtle Kolb, four brother; James, Harvey, Elbert and Edwin Kolb, sister Grace Beattie and a host of other relatives and friends. Those who are left to mourn her passing is her loving husband Ballard "Speed" Philpot of Cuba, children; James and wife Carolyn Philpot of Leasburg, Missouri, John Philpot of Cyprus, California, Carrie and husband Bob Lawrence of Jamesburg, New Jersey, Cheryl and husband Jay Bullard of Orange, California, Jeffrey and wife Angelita Philpot of Desoto, Missouri and Joseph and wife Lori Philpot of Sullivan, Missouri, eighteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, sister Gertrude Hayden of Fancy Farms, Kentucky, brother Bill and wife Elaine Kolb of Cincinnati, Ohio, two sister in laws Mary and Kay Kolb of Cincinnati, Ohio, one brother in law Jim Beattie of Cincinnati, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation held Friday, August 18th from 6 to 8 PM at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba. Funeral service 11 AM Saturday, August 19th at the Cuba United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Lathum offiating. Burial followed at Kinder Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to BJC Hospice in Catherine's memory. All arrangements under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Cuba.
