Carter Francis Mullen

Carter Francis Mullen of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Raymond F. and Mae A. (Carter) Mullen on February 17, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri and left from this life on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 83. Carter retired from the United States Army after 22 years of Honorable and Faithful service to his Country during World War II and the Korean War. He enjoyed preaching the Gospel of the Lord and being a great husband, father and grandfather. In his spare time he enjoyed building and tinkering with things. Carter is preceded in death by his parents Raymond F. Mullen and Mae A. (Carter) Mayer; one sister Alice McCullough and other relatives and friends. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Bernice "Bea" Mullen of Cuba, Missouri; seven children Richard and wife Lori Maddox of Corpus Christi, Texas, LaDena and husband Jim Finerd of San Diego, California, Robert and wife Jackie Maddox of Oregon, Raymond Maddox of Seattle, Washington, Alan Carter and wife Joyce Mullen of Union, Missouri, Vicki George of St. Clair, Missouri, Connie and husband Jim Hoeft of Beaufort, Missouri; one brother Frank Mullen of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister Judy McLaughlin of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister-in-law Wanda Lloyd of Cuba, Missouri; one brother-in-law Ray and wife Maurine Kitchen of St. Louis, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2010 2-5 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba. Funeral service will be on Monday, November 1, 2010 10:30 a.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba with Rev. Marvin Thompson officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Ft. Leonard Wood Veterans Cemetery, Waynesville, Missouri. Memorials would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Missouri Veterans Home of St. James, Missouri. The Britton Funeral Home of Cuba is honored be serving the Mullen family.
