Carol Faye Avery of Bourbon, Missouri was born Monday, October 27, 1947 at Bonne Terre, Missouri to the union of Harry and Bettie (Nee: Johnson) Wells and left from this life, surrounded by family, on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at her home in Bourbon at the age of 70 years. Carol was united in marriage to Perle E. "Butch" Avery, Jr, on Saturday, April 22, 1967 at Cantwell, Missouri and to this union three children were born; Mark, Tracy and Billie. Carol retired in 2009 after working thirteen years for Walmart in Sullivan. She worked seven years in the jewelry department and six years in the clothing department. Prior to Walmart, Carol worked in housekeeping for several different hotels. Carol spent many hours playing Sudoku, working crossword puzzles and putting puzzles together. She enjoyed beautiful flowerbeds and gardens and fishing when she was younger. The most important thing in Carol's life was spending time with Butch, her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She truly was "The World's Best Grandma". Carol was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law and friend of many. She will be forever remembered all who knew and loved her. Carol is preceded in death by her parents Harry and Bettie Wells, daughter Tracy Weber, in-laws Perle and Virginia Avery, sisters-in-law Linda and husband Cork Collier and Fern Bryant, brother-in-law Mike Dildine and other family and friends. Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving husband of fifty years Butch Avery of the home, two children Mark Avery of Union and Billie and husband John Schuler of Houston, Texas, six grandchildren; Nicholas "Nick" and wife Tara Weber of Cuba, Ben Weber of Cuba, Ashley and husband Nick Mesger of Bourbon, Danielle Schuler of Houston, Texas, Kerri Schuler of Houston, Texas and Mikayla Avery of Cuba, five great grandchildren; Jadelyn, Hunter, Gunner, Chandler and Christian Weber all of Cuba, one brother Harry and wife Debbie Wells of South County, Missouri, one sister Betty and husband Charles Speers of Bear, Delaware, sister-in-law Claudia Dildine of St. Clair, Missouri, brothers-in-law Jerry Bryant of Steelville, Gene and wife Linda Avery of Leasburg, Terry and wife Vickie Hogan of Boss and Michael and wife Jeannie Hogan of Arkansas, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held at 2;00 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba with Pastor Alan Miles officiating. Special recorded music will be "Amazing Grace" Hallelujah" and "Go Tell It on the Mountain". Inurnment will follow at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Charity of Choice in Carol's memory. The Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba is honored to be serving the Avery family.
