Carl Gray

Carl Gray of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Cordell and Hazel (Hicks) Gray on August 10, 1927 in Steelville, Missouri and left from this life on Monday, April 25, 2011 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 83. Carl had worked thru the years for St. Louis Ship Yards, Chrysler and later owned and operated Gray's Auto Sales in Cuba. He proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army during WWII and enjoyed being an Evangelistic Minister. In his spare time he enjoyed going to yard sales, tinkering with cars and playing the guitar. He was a member of the American Legion and V.F.W. of Cuba. Carl is preceded in death by his parents Cordell and Hazel (Hicks) Gray; one brother Lowell Gray; two grandchildren Kimberly Sue Frederick and T.J. Gray. Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his wife Mary Dale Gray (nee: Pogue) of Cuba, Missouri; four children Jacqueline Ash of Dexter, Missouri, Janet and husband Harold Frederick of House Springs, Missouri, Larry Gray of Sullivan, Missouri, Tim and wife Norma Gray of Cuba, Missouri; three step-children Sharon Clounts of State of Washington, Larry Kottwitz of Kokomo, Indiana, Dana King of Tumwater, Washington; fifteen grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 5-8 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home 904 W. Washington St. Cuba, Missouri. St. Clair American Legion Post #347 Honor Guard Services 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 1:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Smith, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Gray family.
