Calvin K. Murray of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday, July 10, 1963 at Jefferson City, Missouri to the union of Harold E. and Iretta (Nee: Watson) Murray. He left from this life on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis at the age of 57 years.

Calvin was united in marriage to Phyllis Stricklin and they became the proud parents of Dillon and Collin.

Calvin drove a dump truck for over thirty years and for the last twenty plus years he was the owner/operator of Calvin Murray Hauling LLC. He drove during the day and was his own mechanic at night.

Calvin enjoyed doing whatever the boys were doing. They went off-roading, raced 4 wheelers, rock climbing, deer hunting and he would ride the rides at the fair with the boys. Calvin liked going to the river, camping, and fishing.

He would go to the car shows with his 1970 orange Chevy Nova. He could build or remodel anything. He was talented, awesome husband and dad.

He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin, and friend of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Iretta Murray, parents-in-law Cecil and Betty Stricklin and other family and friends.

Those who are left to treasure his memory and to continue his legacy are his loving wife Phyllis Murray of the home; two sons Dillon Murray of Cuba and Collin Murray of Cuba; two brothers Kenny and wife Caroline Murray of Newburg, Missouri, Jeff and wife Laura Murray of Cuba; two sisters Mona and husband Keith Beasley of Steelville, Tonia and husband Jimmy Righter of Steelville; sister-in-law Linda Darlene Wurth and companion Don Rodgers of Cuba; special nephew Steve and wife Becky Stricklin of Havre de Grace, Maryland; uncles Buren and wife Eileen Watson of Pekin, Illinois, Ronnie and wife Sue Watson of Williamsburg, Missouri, Vernell Calvin Watson of Salem, Missouri, Bill and wife Chris Murray of Belton, Missouri, Jack and wife Sharon Murray of Harvester, Missouri, Tom and wife Brenda Murray of Steelville, Missouri; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2020 from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home, 904 W Washington Street, Cuba, Missouri.

Private funeral service will be held Friday, August 21, 2020 at the Mizell Funeral Home, Cuba with Pastor Don Martin officiating. Special recorded music will be "Simple Man", "When I Get Where I'm Going", Just To See You Smile", "Gone To Soon" and "Why Things Happen".

Interment and prayers will follow at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Murray family.

The Mizell Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Murray family.
