Buddy Keith Sizemore

October 20, 1931 — December 15, 2014

Buddy Sizemore , born October 20th, 1931 in Checotah, Oklahoma, passed away on December 15th, 2014 in Huntsville, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Pearl (Nalley) Sizemore, his wife, Joan (Russell) Sizemore, and his sister, Joyce Clark. Four areas of his life were most important to Buddy: his relationship with God and his church; his wife and family; gospel music; and sports. He quietly served as a deacon, choir member, teacher, emergency relief volunteer, and visitor of those in the hospital. Throughout his life he could be found sitting in Sunday School or in a service taking thoughtful notes with his Bible open on his lap. He shared his faith with his family, and one of the only things he enjoyed more than having family visit was having his children and their families sing in church. Of course, those who thought of Buddy as a quiet man only had to ask a sports question to open a floodgate of conversation. Formerly of Cuba, Missouri, where he resided for 33 years, he spent the past eight years in Huntsville, Alabama. His family heard repeatedly from many there about how consistently sweet Buddy's nature was. Buddy Sizemore is survived by his three children David and wife Barbara Sizemore of Huntsville, Alabama, Kay Lynn and husband Doug Elders of Pacific, Missouri, Mary Ann and husband Ron Baker of Springfield, Missouri; and four grandchildren Luke and wife Leah Elders, Mark Elders, Sarah Sizemore and Peter Sizemore Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cuba, 606 West Myrtle Street, Cuba, Missouri. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Cuba.
